Strategic Planning · Canberra
A good strategic plan starts with a good conversation. A well-run planning session brings the board and leadership team together around a shared view of the future and ends with clear priorities, not just a full whiteboard. An independent facilitator lets everyone, including the chair and CEO, take part fully.
Canberra's governance landscape is shaped by Commonwealth boards and authorities, national peak bodies, member associations and universities, where accountability expectations are high. David facilitates strategic planning for Canberra boards and leadership teams, whether they are setting a new direction or refreshing an existing plan.
David's strengths lie in his governance framework, strategic thinking and commercial intellect. He completed AICD programs including The Strategic Director, has chaired boards across many sectors and is a regular guest speaker on director and board duties.

Every engagement is tailored to your organisation and what you want to achieve. Depending on your needs, the work may include:
Strategic Planning
Leave with agreed priorities and a shared understanding of where the organisation is heading.
With an independent facilitator, the chair and CEO can contribute rather than run the session.
An outside view helps test assumptions and surface new ideas.
Difficult topics are handled openly and respectfully.
Clarify who does what in setting and delivering strategy.
Outputs are captured clearly so the plan can be written, implemented and tracked.
Independent, confidential, practical
Agree the purpose, participants and desired outcomes with the chair and CEO.
Gather perspectives and review your current plan so the session focuses on the issues that matter.
An engaging, well-paced session that keeps discussion focused and inclusive.
A clear summary of decisions, priorities and next steps to shape your strategic plan.
