Governance Review

Governance reviews for Australian boards

A sound governance framework gives your board clarity about its role, its decisions and its accountability. Over time, policies and charters drift out of date. An independent review brings them back into line with contemporary best practice.

David reviews governance frameworks and board policies for boards across Australia, in the not-for-profit, government, member-based, local government and unlisted company sectors.

David has worked with corporate governance, audit and nominations committees, completed the AICD Company Directors Course and studied board governance at Harvard Business School.

Questions

Governance Review FAQs

What is a governance framework review?

A governance framework review looks at the structures, policies and processes that guide how your board operates, including the constitution, board and committee charters, delegations and key policies, and compares them with contemporary best practice.

Do you provide governance and policy reviews across Australia?

Yes. David works with boards and organisations across Australia. Get in touch to discuss your organisation and how the work would be delivered.

Which policies can you review?

Common examples include the board charter, committee charters, delegations of authority, conflict of interest policy, code of conduct and risk management framework.

Do you help implement the changes?

Yes. David can help the board adopt and embed the recommendations, including through governance training.

Is a governance review the same as a board review?

They are related but different. A governance review looks at your framework and policies; a board review looks at how the board performs in practice. Many boards benefit from both.

What does a governance review cost?

Every engagement is tailored, so cost depends on the size of your board or organisation and the scope of the work. Get in touch with David for a confidential proposal.
