Profile

A trusted advisor to boards across Australia

David has over 25 years' experience in commercial business management, now including significant directorship experience over the last 10 years with Indigenous organisations. He brings expertise in governance, relationship strategy and risk, Aboriginal health organisations, local government, membership associations, chairmanship, unlisted public company experience, adult education, ethics, decision making and the not-for-profit sector.

In November 2013, David attended Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts, where he studied board governance and is now an Alumni member. He completed the AICD's Company Director Course along with associated programs including The Chairman, The Role of the Director, The Strategic Director, The Not for Profit Board, and Finance and Assessing Company Performance. David has worked with corporate governance, audit and nominations committees, and provides regular guest speaking on director and board duties and responsibilities.

In 2008 David wrote the first ever feasibility study into Indigenous governance on behalf of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, which led to a stream of governance education programs. He is now a nationally recognised facilitator and consultant within the Indigenous corporation sector — including entities working in native title, health and education. David also spent six years serving as an Independent Director on two Indigenous boards in Kununurra, WA, working with Indigenous businesses and family groups.
